Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment using new attachments. They can also boost its base stats or add additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory and have access to the kiln.
Usually items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, whereas items with strong bases like eth titans do not vary significantly in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be slotted into trinkets, armor, weapons and gathering tools, providing an added bonus or impact when the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, or found as loot by enemies, or obtained from chests and missions. Certain upgrades can also be equipped with special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level to upgrade.
To upgrade an item of armor, the player must select it, and then click the Upgrade button located in the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade stats and the necessary component or materials.
There are three types that are universal upgrades (which include gems), prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, such as gems, can be used on any kind of equipment. They offer a lesser bonus than upgrade components that are subject to a type limitation. Infusions are jewels that are only available in legendary and ascended equipment. They offer the same benefits as jewels, but they cannot be used with any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add a suffix at the end of the names of items. For example, adding the suffix Glyph would make a Staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.
If a player upgrades a gathering tool and replaces the glyphs by a different one the previous one will be returned to their inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component will damage it, with the exception of the inscriptions that can be swapped.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade system is different from previous versions in some key ways. Gear is now categorized in tracks, and each item can only be upgraded so many times before it is "leveled out." The upgrade cost increases with each level up however, the materials needed don't increase as much. This allows players to focus their efforts on a select few items and maximize the effect of these items, rather than spreading the cost of upgrades across several pieces.
Once an item has been completed, it will be capable of receiving an upgrade set of components, and an increase in the likelihood that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Power and it resets to 0 on failure or increases when the upgrade is successful.
Once a piece of gear is upgraded to its maximum level, it will be able to be given affixes that enhance its capabilities. The number of affixes that are available will depend on the item's type. For example, a rare or unique weapon that has a standard base will have no more than two affixes to choose from, while legendary armors will have up to eight affixes available for it.
Each upgrade process requires a certain number of Flightstones or Crests, based on the type of item at its current level and what slot it is in. Weapons typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.
If an item doesn't attain its maximum level, the NPC offers the player the option to transfer it to another character and then re-infuse it with a different set or upgrades. This procedure can take as long as two hours, and costs the same amount of material. However, it has a lower rate of success.
To determine the height of a building, engineers will utilize a level to compare the measurement against a known reference point like a benchmark, or the ground's elevation. This process is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings using the backsight rod and the level, then turning the level and making the foresight rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are built to a high level of safety and accuracy.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is a very important part of the game that can increase the strength, damage or other characteristics. This can be done through the item menu or by using the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling items can be costly and should be handled with care.
Reroll tokens are obtained by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade either the original item or another similar item. Recyclable items have an indicator that indicates the degree of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled is contingent on the rarity and the upgrade cost of the item.
Prior to this, certain upgrades were given priority affixes which made them more accessible for players to roll. This meant that you could be able to get the stats that were important most to your build often than others. This included things like the armor's total armor, thorns and duration reduction statistics that were controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.
This was changed in the latest patch. Priority affixes were removed, and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling each stat. This can be a good or a bad thing, depending on your requirements and expectations from your equipment.
Each upgraded item may be equipped with a special bonus that increases the power of the item by a fixed percentage or flat value. These bonuses are rolled in addition to the usual affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the better the chance of receiving an exclusive bonus.
The game also features a number of sets, which give a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are placed on the same unit. This is a good method of giving a character a lot more power without spending a ton of money.
Many players are known to reroll their weapons and equipment, especially in the early stages. Rerolling can help you get a more powerful character quicker, which enables you to progress in the game and attain higher tiers.
Sets
Sets are groups of elements that can be put together in different ways. They can be of different sizes, contain no elements, or contain a single element. They are useful for organizing data or separating information. They can also be useful in analysing patterns. Sets can be classified in many ways such as size and shape.
There are a variety of set items that can be upgraded in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Certain items are worth upgrading and others aren't. Upgrades are worthwhile for armor sets that offer high defense and set bonuses. However, most upgrades to weapons don't improve the quality of the item's stats when in comparison to their counterparts in purple. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if you already have lots of armor or weapons already.
Some set items are upgraded to take advantage of their unique procs that can be useful in certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. item upgrading were upgraded to Extraordinary Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements were also increased).
Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them up to the same level with their tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, is a huge range of levels, ranging from 29 to 75. Upgrades to lower level items can improve their defense, and improve their performance when it comes to damage.
To determine if a product is worth upgrading, players must click the Upgrade button on the screen of their character. The item's attributes will be displayed together with any required items. For example the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials, 250 Enchanted Dust, and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also look up the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.
In general, armor and weapons have a higher trade value when they are fully updated. Particularly, for weapons that feature spell/weapon damage glyphs upgrading them to gold is recommended since it will give a substantial increase in their performance. Weapons with an upgraded appearance will benefit from this upgrade because its defense will increase when it goes from purple to gold.
