Components
In computer technology it is a case of a hardware or software upgrade replaces an older version with a newer version with additional features or functions. Upgrades are typically performed to make the system more efficient and more reliable, or capable of handling larger quantities of data. Hardware upgrades can include storage devices such as hard disk drives, processors, and motherboards. Computer upgrades must always be compatible with specifications of the computer being upgraded.
In Guild Wars 2, upgrade items are items that can be slotted into armor, weapons and trinkets in order to provide an attribute bonus or other effect while the equipment is being used. To accept a component, an item must have an open upgrade slot and be above or equal to the specified level.
Components are available to purchase from vendors in Night City, obtained by disassembling items that aren't working or being found out in the world. Components are available from vendors even when the item isn't appropriate for the level.
There are many kinds of components. Universal upgrades (such as gems) can be placed on any equipment, however they offer fewer bonuses than those that are limited to a specific type. Jewels however are only able to be placed in trinkets, and offer more bonuses than other upgrade item.
item upgrader are special upgrade items that can only be placed inside a trinket. They can be used to increase the multiplier of experiences. They are great for maxing out a character, as they're inexpensive to purchase but don't stack with other experience modifiers.
Infusions can be incorporated into non-ascended armor and legendaries as well as other non-legendary items. You can recover them by using the tool for extraction of infusions or salvaging them with the Ascended Rescue Tool. One thing to remember is that upgrading an item with infusions will cause the item to have a unique name. As an example, if you add a Rune of Minor Vigor on the Tyrian Armor, it will display the name "Radiant Tyrian Armor." Similarly, an inscription on a weapon will be displayed in its hover display as an Inscribed Weapon.
Glyphs
Glyphs enhance a substat of an item of gear. They are available in a variety of places, however the most common place to obtain them is by finishing Nightmare Dungeons and Helltides. They are also available through the Faction Crypts. Glyphs in the crypts only apply to certain classes, so be sure to claim only ones that will work for your character. Once you have a bunch of Glyphs you can head to the Glyph Altar located in the middle of Teleria to spend them. This altar will increase the enchanted item's value by a specific amount, based on the Glyph you choose to use.
Glyphs are a great way to improve your gear, but they can be difficult to acquire and use. Some glyphs will increase healing, damage or resistance, whereas others will boost healing, damage or resistance. Some dropped items have a default glyph which will automatically change when you upgrade the item. This is only applicable to glyphs that were manually crafted onto the item, not the original enchantment. Glyphs that are automatically upgraded will always be an upper quality than the glyph you created manually on the item.
Glyphs are an important part of the crafting process. They allow you to change prefixes into an affix that is experimental on boots, gloves, and belts. Glyphs aren't easy to obtain due to the RNG factor of their crafting. To assist players, we've created a Glyph of Insight crafting spreadsheet to help.
Some tips for getting Glyphs faster include choosing shorter, simpler dungeons to complete such as Witchwater. This dungeon follows a linear layout, which makes it easy to travel through and beat enemies. Consuming health potions during the dungeons will help speed up the process.
Rerolling
Rerolling is a process that involves replacing an upgrade item with another item of the same type. This process changes the item's extra stats but does not affect the level or attachment slot. The price of the item is determined by its rarity as well as its level. This can be accomplished with weapons, armors and ring.
Upgrade items are the kind of accessories that boost the stats of units in Guild Wars 2 These items are available in a variety of styles, and can improve a variety of aspects. Upgrades increase the health, strength of spells and physical strength of armors, weapons, and rings. The upgrades also add various other capabilities to the unit. The player is able to use the item by placing it on the unit's portrait.
Recycling items fill up the progress bar, which increases the upgrade value of an item. Six items can be recycled in one go, and the amount of points earned for recycling increases with both the item's rarity and the level. The upgrade that results will be random and cannot be guaranteed.
Rerolling or not is dependent on the player's preference. Some players reroll so that they have a strong set of characters that will carry through the game. Others may decide to not reroll because they prefer to play with their favorite character no regardless of how powerful.

Rerolling can be costly and requires a lot of effort, so you should carefully consider the pros and cons. If you're unsure about the best strategy for rerolling, talk with other players and ask for suggestions.

Sets
If an upgrade item is put on a set or unique item, it gives the set item a bonus. These bonuses may differ based on the kind of upgrade. For example an increase in def is provided when an upgrade item is put on an armor set for guardians or a the ring, and an AOE damage boost is provided when an upgrade item is positioned on an weapon.
Although the additional stats added by an upgrade item may aid an build, their effects aren't always the most beneficial. If there are already perfect or nearly perfect versions that aren't upgraded of a high DPS item (whistan’s shield for FB Sorcs for example) upgrading it might not be as beneficial.
